A period of probation in employment is the initial period of employment in which both the employer and new employee can assess whether they wish to continue the employment relationship. A probation period provides employers with an opportunity to review an employee’s suitability for, and effectiveness in, the position to which they have been appointed. Probation is also an opportunity for the employee to consider and assess whether or not the position with the Company meets their requirements and expectations.
